Featured Boston Restaurant: Sam LaGrassa's
Tucked deep in the overly cramped streets of downtown Boston lie perhaps THE greatest sandwich shop in all of New England.

That generalization may remain true to most people who’ve tried their product offerings, but Sam LaGrassa’s strives for more than that. They refer to their sandwiches as the World’s Best – not Boston’s best, not New England’s best, not the country’s best, not North America’s best: The World’s Best.
And rightfully so: They’ve earned that title. Sam LaGrassa’s sandwiches are stellar, spectacular, mouthwatering, hunger inducing – add any other positive adjective in here that you want to refer to them as. You’ll never hear someone complain about either A) the size or B) the quality of the sandwich they get from Sam LaGrassa’s. It just won’t happen – like what I told the conspiracy theorists when they told me the world was going to end in 2012.
Few sandwich shops (if any) offer as tasty vegetarian options as Sam LaGrassa’s does. You can’t go wrong with the Roasted Vegetable Wrap, which is filled with sautéed spinach, fried eggplant, roasted red peppers, Portobello mushrooms, butternut squash, balsamic glazed onions, zucchini, and pepper jack cheese - served on a grilled tortilla wrap.
If that seems like a little too much for you, go for the Eggplant, Peppers, Mushroom & Cheese sandwich or the Grilled Portobello Mushrooms & Cheese sandwich – they’re certainly simpler than the aforementioned Vegetable Wrap, but no less delightful.
When they come to Sam LaGrassa’s, though, the veggie-heads are seriously missing out (although their still getting an A+ quality meal) because Sam LaGrassa’s best offerings are sandwiches stacked high with tasty pork, chicken and beef.
Reuben lovers will love Sam LaGrassa’s Jumbo Reuben Sandwich, served properly on pumpernickel bread as it should be; pastrami addicts will dig the Pastrami Po’ Boy; beefeaters will savor the flavor of the Roast Beef, Peppers and Cheese Sandwich.
A personal favorite will always be the Santa Fe BBQ Chicken sandwich, which features a fat plop of pulled BBQ chicken covered with apple-smoked bacon and Monterey Jack cheese on a round roll.
Another favorite is the Tuna Melt With Tomato And Bacon Sandwich – it is as it sounds, except more giant. Although these may be my preferred choices, don’t be afraid to delve into what suits your taste buds at Sam LaGrassa’s.
