Featured Dallas Restaurant: Mi Piaci Cucina Italiana

Featured Dallas Restaurant: Mi Piaci Cucina Italiana

When you think of authentic Italian cuisine in America, the first area of the United States that pops into your head probably isn’t the American Southwest. Many think about Boston's North End, New York's Little Italy, etc. Although the Northeastern United States was undoubtedly the place where the majority of Italian immigrants made their way to from Italy, that doesn’t mean that bona fide delicious Italian food didn’t make its way all the way across the rest of the country – specifically to one of the lucky cities in America that DiningIn calls home in Dallas.

Mi Piaci Cucina Italiana is the Italian restaurant in Dallas that Dallas residents go to when they want to eat authentic innovative Italian food while receiving impeccable service. From the top to the bottom of their menu – from the delectable lunch entrees to the wide selection of wines to the mouthwatering dinner entrees – every item screams deliciousness. The best new option available for Mi Piaci Cucina Italiana, though, isn’t a specific item on their menu or drink from their bar - it is the fact that they’re now offering delivery in Dallas through DiningIn.

Mi Piaci Cucina Italiana is located right directly between University Park and North Dallas and has been serving some of the Dallas area’s absolute finest Italian fare since 1990. The restaurant’s moral is clearly to give the customer a desired experience without breaking their bank, as Mi Piaci Cucina Italiana hosts a Social Hour from Monday to Thursday during which they serve specialty cocktails and glasses of wine for $5 apiece along with complimentary bites. During the month of February 2014, the restaurant is also hosting a 3-course price fixe dinner in lieu of Valentine's Day.

When you're looking for a big, full, delicious Italian meal, though, Mi Piaci Cucina Italiana has certainly got you covered in that department. The best way to start off and great Italian meal, in my opinion, is with a great Caprese Salad, and the Caprese Classica from Mi Piaci Cucina Italiana fits that exact mold, as does the cold Prosciutto Di Parma dish that is served with melons (yum) and virgin olive oil. If you’re looking for a tasty hot appetizer, you can’t go wrong with the Calamari Fritti. All are good to share as well.

If you're looking to do a soup and salad as well, we recommend the Insalata Caraciofi E Argula, featured an artichoke tossed with argula in a lemon oil and finished off with a shaved, sharp and tasty parmigiano reggiano cheese to give the salad a strong flavor you won't forget. The Insalata Di Cesare is a good bang for your buck, too, and if you're getting soup try the Zuppa Aragosta, a lobster bisque topped with a lobster fritter.

For the main course, your best bet may be the Scaloppini Di Vitella Piccatta - or Veal Scaloppini, as the veal is tender and finished off with a lemon caper butera - but you're also doing yourself a relative disservice if you don't have fresh pasta from Mi Piaci Cucina Italiana. They have a variety of pasta options ranging from Rigatoni to Spaghetti to Linguine to Fusilli and more, and the dishes range from Fettucini Al Prosciutto (a Fettucini Alfredo-like dish, except better) to Penne All'Arrabiata (a Penne dish served with a tomato-vodka sauce) to Tagliatelle Alla Bolognese (an equisite Bolognese experience, pictured below) and more.

If you can, certainly save room for dessert in your authentic Italian meal delivery order, too, as the succulent offerings here including a delicious Tiramisu will end your meal with a gigantic smile. The various paninis offered from Mi Piaci Cucina Italiana make for solid lunch dishes as well - the best which may be the Panino Al Prosciutto, stuffed with thinly shaved prosciutto di parma, fresh mozzarella and arugula. The pizza is also a customer favorite and is great for delivery at any time of day. One particularly palatable pizza is the Quattro Stagono Pizza, which has artichokes, black olives, marinated mushrooms and prosciutto di Parma atop its thin crust. To be entirely honest, everything from Mi Piaci Cucina Italiana is pretty delicious.
